August update

Wow who can believe that we are almost in August!  We should be down in Melbourne at the August trade fairs and preparing for the coming busy season but this year has had other plans for us.

The best news of the week is that our new shipment will be here by mid September and we will have our full range of baskets back in stock!  It is always so hard when the full collection becomes reduced and so great when we get the new delivery.  I will keep you updated of the shipments progress! Happy dancing!!

In the mean time we still have plenty of baskets available. Check out this month’s basket.  As I write today is the last day of plastic free July but lets keep up the good work and use the baskets and other sustainable products to help reduce our plastic use.

The rustic weave oval baskets are lovely. Great to be able to say we are now back at Cambridge market EQ every Saturday at the Entertainment Quarter in the showing from 8am to 2pm.  See you there.

 

 

 

 

Also brilliant to say that Carriageworks Farmers market is restarting on the 8th August. We will be there for the reopening market.  8am to 1pm. We are planning a warehouse sale for the reopening. Yippee. We will also be there Saturday 22nd August too.

 

Covid Safe    

 

 

At  2 duck trading co we are a doing our best to be Covid Safe. We offer contactless payment, have hand sanitiser available, will maintain required social distancing  and undertake not to come to the market if we are feeling unwell. Lets all keep safe.

July means Bastille market

Update Update

Sadly the Bastille market at Club Willoughby has been postponed until 20th September. Due to the heighten issues in organising events at present a last minute decision was made to reschedule. Keeping everyone safe is our main priority!!

 

Well it is already July and that can only mean one thing – the annual Bastille celebrations. This year, as with everything,  all the festivals are quite curtailed. So we are very lucky to have the Bastille Market at Club Willoughby on the 12 July.  It’s going to be a full day of food, shopping, wine and more celebrating all things French. Situated in the car park of the Club Willoughby, Crabbes Ave.  It will be an outdoor market with lots of space for everyone to enjoy safely. Can’t wait to see you all there.

Remember not only do we have the fantastic baskets perfect for any French celebration but we have a great range of the St James stripy Breton tops. Just to get into the look!

Plastic free July

Now an annual event, the month of July is an opportunity to really look at our plastic use and our personnel commitment to reducing plastic and our carbon foot print. At 2 duck we do feel that  the use of a basket is a perfect way to start reducing plastic usage. We are just back from the market and just loaded all our veggies in without additional plastic. MarketsCambridge markets at EQ  is back and in full swing. We return Saturdays starting 18th July.

Carriageworks is still working through the issues for the whole site however they are hopeful that the Carriageworks Farmers market will be back very soon. Maybe by early August. Fingers crossed.

June at 2 duck

 

As our lives gradually come back to normal and we come out of isolation, we continue to have our range of French market baskets and lovely table linens to be available online and by appointment at  frenchclass in Glenmore Road Paddington until late June.   Just call 0404259986 to make an appointment. We are here onsite so it is easy to meet you should you require a basket or St James teeshirt.

Winter is upon us  and while we don’t always think of market baskets in the cooler weather we can use them every day for some many different things. For those lucky enough to have a fire place many of the baskets can be perfect for your kindling or logs.  Otherwise they make lovely everyday hand bag like our beautiful round basket of the month below.

Update on the markets:The markets have started back up at Cambridge market EQ Moore Park –  on Wednesday and Saturday. One for the calendar!

In July Sydney would normally be busy, with plenty of events, for the celebration  French national day – 14th July!   The Bastille Market Australia  at Club Willoughby is still planning to go ahead on Sunday 12 July.  They are planning a full celebration of everything French – food, shopping, wine  and more.   If public gatherings are unable to proceed at this time, they have back up date in September if the market can’t take place. May days & Pop Up shop

Hi all

How are you going with the lockdown times?

The 1st of May is one of my favourite French traditions Fete des Muguets. Everywhere we go in France we find people selling bunch of “lily of the valley”. Perfect with a basket.  I know I have posted this photo before but it is my favourite and we need favourites at this time. They bring good luck!!

As social distancing restriction are in place there are still no reputable markets operating at the moment. More news coming.

Express Post offer: With Mothers day fast approaching I am upgrading all my online orders to express post. Things have been pretty haywire with the post in these past few weeks so if you need an urgent gift we will do our best!

April update from 2 duck

 

A big hello from 2 duck trading co  market baskets.   Well life has certainly changed for us all in the last few weeks!  That is probably an understatement. I hope you all are keeping safe, well and most importantly staying home. It is a short April update as we prepare to hunker down in Paddo.

 

Market update

We are now no longer participating in any weekly markets.

Cambridge markets EQ will be conducting their last market Wednesday 1 April.

Carriageworks Farmers market is now closed indefintely with an expected (hopefully) reopening in Spring.

Northside Produce market is also closed for the foreseeable future.

It has been so difficult for all the market managers to make these decisions but in the long term they seek to offer a safe and healthy space for people to shop.

In addition all of our special events and markets have now all been postponed or cancelled.   It is very sad to not be attending Burrawang Easter fair as we always do on Easter Saturday.

We do still have our online store open (yay) to buy market baskets  and we will be posting orders twice a week to minimise our trips out to the post office.

Of course our wholesales are still available too but we understand that almost all retail shops will be closed or operating for limited hours.

March for harvesting with your market basket!

 

This is truely the perfect time for a French market basket. It can be a harvest basket,  a shopping basket for all the wonderful produce, a going to the market basket or collecting flowers basket.

We are already in March and the beginning of Autumn – isn’t it amazing how time flies.  This is now the best time to use your French market basket from 2 duck to gather your autumnal abondance.

We are slowly getting the year underway here at 2 duck, very difficult not to be glued to the news outlets watching the awful devastation unfold on our beloved south coast. The scene of so many wonderful holidays. Bon courage to everyone facing so much devastation.

 Wahroonga Village Fair  Sunday 1st December 9.30-4pm

 We are at Cambridge Markets EQ every Wednesday and Saturday during December until Saturday 21st Dec (except Saturday 14th Dec special friends birthday sorry)

 We will be there Saturday 7th December from 8am to midday.

 We have two markets in December at Carriageworks. Saturday 14th Dec and then the grand finale for the Carriageworks Christmas market on the 21st December.

 The last special French fair before Xmas in the grounds at Club Willoughby from 9am to 2pm. Sunday 8th Dec. We will have all our St James tee shirts, table linens and plenty of baskets.

 

Finally we will be having our own  Pop up Shop again at frenchclass in Paddington. Starting Friday 20th to 24th December for baskets, French vintage linens, St James tops table linens and more.

Count down to the festive season!

Wow now it’s November – we have been to France and are now into the busy season! We have some many markets coming up – some with a French flavour or just good old fashioned local community events. Springs feel more like summer and this means lots of great trips to beaches, parks and pool are just around the corner. Perfect time for a new basket!
