April

Mother’s Day is coming in early May – we have the perfect Mother’s Day presents which are beautiful, practical for many Mother’s daily lives and ethical too. What better place to get a pressie for your Mum.

As the Autumn days come on us we notice we are selling more baskets for harvesting and gathering fruit and vegetables. We love hearing how you are using the baskets. So do send us your photos. We think our baskets are perfect for loads of autumn goodness. Especially the newly uploaded rush baskets – see this basket pictured plus the whole range over on the shop.

 

Basket of the Month

 Our fantastic jute basket is our feature basket and also on special for the month of April!!  Pictured is the long handle leather trim basket with the added strength and style of the jute covering.  A charming rustic delight. Also available in short handle style too. See this and all our other great baskets over on our shop page.

 

Markets in April

 EQ market at Moore Park is on every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to 2pm. Market closed ANZAC day.

 Carriageworks Farmers market is on every Saturday you can find us on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. This month that is 14th and 28th April. The market is open from 8am to 1pm sharp.

 

 Northside Market is on 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month in Miller Street, North Sydney. We are there on the 3rd Saturday 21st April.  From 8am to midday.

 

Upcoming events May

 

  We are participating in the Argyle Affair – a curated shopping event in Camden. Every day from 9-3pm.

March madness!!

At all our markets in March we are going to be offering discounts on our baskets. We have a pile of 2nd baskets and discontinued styles and they are taking space in the warehouse so it is time to move them on!!

Pop in a visit us at the markets this month for a great bargain.

 

Sustainables

Whilst baskets are the perfect way to shop environmentally. We do need additional bags for our fruit and veg.  After our recent trip to New Zealand we came across Helen and her business The Rubbish Whisperer. We bought a load of her great and colourful bags and they have been selling like hotcakes. The beauty of these bags is they are all made in NZ and are very strong.

 Each bag can hold over 1.5kg of fruit or vegetables. Packs of 5 $25 at the markets.

The Market @EQ

  2 duck trading co is there every Wednesday and Saturday  for March (Except Easter Saturday 31st March)  The market open 8am til 2pm.

 

Carriageworks Farmers Market 

 You will us there on Saturday 10th and 24th March. The market starts at 8am until 1pm and you can find us at the Carriageworks Precinct Wilson Street.

Northside Produce Market

 Whilst the market trade twice a month you can find us on the 3rd Saturday of the month 17th March from 8am to midday.

 

Burrawang Easter Market 

Easter has come around quickly this year so you can find us at our usual spot just across from the pub on Saturday 31st March in the main street of  Burrawang Village, Southern Highlands. The market gets underway by 9am until 3pm.

Season of love

 

I know it is cheesy, but how cool is a love heart basket – practical and pretty, ethical and lovely!!

For 2 weeks our love heart baskets are on special!!! Ready for the festival of love Valentines Day!!

Holiday January

Holidays

We are having a lovely break for part of January – much needed after the busy few months of October, November and December.

We are back at the markets from Wednesday 24th January – at Moore Park produce market and Carriageworks on Saturday 27th January. then pall our normal markets in February.

 

Baskets will still be available online during that time!!

We have landed back in Sydney in time for a few markets at the end of the month and of course our new shipment of baskets!!

Our birthday!!

CMRI Wagga Wagga Christmas Fair

We love coming down to Wagga Wagga for this lovely fair. We will bring down a great selection of baskets, table linens, St James tee shirts, crochets hats and more to be part of this fabulous 2 days event at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Friday and Saturday 27th and 28th October.

 

New Shipment

Any day now we will have the final clearance of the new shipment of baskets to bring to you. Once they are in stock we will be updating our website so keep an eye out for them

September

Spring and don’t we love it!!  While we wait for our new shipment of baskets to arrive  we still have plenty of great baskets to enjoy getting out in the spring conditions.  All our rectangle baskets are great for picnics and our classic baskets just swing over the shoulder and away you go!!

We are lucky enough to be off to France at the end of September for a month. More work on our little country house, some sourcing of product and a bit of holiday. We are back 22nd October. Our online sales and wholesales will be continuing as normal with a little help from our friends.

August

As plastic bag free July draws to a close how wonderful to see some movement from our large supermarket chains regarding single use plastic bags. I can’t believe it has taken so long!!

I lived in France in the 90’s and single use plastic bags had been phased out many years before, so that a visit to the hypermarche saw shoppers arriving with their baskets and a collection of reusable bags to do their large shop. Of course the use of baskets is very common at the markets and in many village and towns across France. We need to do the same here in Australia!  At 2 duck we are doing our bit!! Our baskets are very strong and do last – so you can shop at the super market or farmers market and carry all your shopping. You may need 2 baskets to fit it in!!   Make the change if you haven’t already and get a basket. Use it, help stop the use of unnecessary plastic.

 

Basket of the Month

 

 Stylish, strong and covered in a layer of jute – with long thick leather handles and leather trim – this basket is great. Perfect for a shopping. Fabulous rustic style!

 

Life Instyle Melbourne

We are exhibiting this year in the Royal Exhibition Building Carlton at the August top boutique trade event. We can be found at Stand 1554 – in a very similar spot to last year. We will be featuring our new range of baskets but will have our classics on show too.  The event is every day from Thursday 3rd to Sunday  6th August. For all our  wonderful stockists pop in and say hello and see the baskets.

 

Markets for August

 

  As we are in Melbourne we be back at the market from 9th August – every Wednesday and Saturday there after. From 9-2pm in the Show ring at the Entertainment Quarter Moore Park.

  2 duck with be in attendance at the Carriageworks Farmers market  12th and 26th August  from 8 to 1pm.

 

A day of beautiful Things

Club Rose Bay –  Thursday 10 August from 10 – 3pm. Join me and a small  collection of beautiful retailers with our wonderful wares. Find us just past the Lynne Park tennis on the corner of New South Head rd and Vickery Ave.

 

Rose Bay Farmer Market

15 August in Pannerong Park Rose Bay for this lovely market. From 8 til 2 pm.

 

  2 duck will be at Northside Produce market the 19th August. From 8 til Midday. Millar Street North Sydney.

 

Ascham Tennis Day Sunday 20th August – at Ascham school from 11 am until 4pm. School fete day and fair.

Loreto Kiribili Spring Fair Sunday 27th August – at Loreto School, Kiribili from 10 to 4 pm.

Vive la révolution!!

 

July will be a busy month in the  2 duck trading calendar. Normally we are in France but this year we are here get to be part of the Bastille Revolution Festival and we are soo excited. Basket of the Month

One of our favourite styles is our basket of the month. The medium rustic rectangle basket.  A perfect size for shopping or even a mobile office. This is the basket we use for all our market admin.  Made from the rarer dwarf palm leaf with short strong leather handles. This basket stands well and is the perfect size for daily shopping, a sport run or a trip to the bank. Visit this basket and the rest of the range over on the shop page.

 

Markets for July

Moore Park Foodies Market at the Showring at the Entertainment Quarter – this month we will be attending on 1st, 5th, 8th. Then 19th, 22nd and 26th July.

 

Carriageworks Farmers market

 Saturdays mornings 8th and 22nd July at Carriageworks from 8 to 1 pm.

 

Bastille Festival

  The festival is from 13th to 16th July in the whole Circular Quay precinct.  2 duck trading can be found at the French Emporium village in Scout Plaza right down near Circular Quay. We will bring our full range of baskets, St James tee shirts, hats, table linens and more.

 

Back to Newington Day:  At Newington school, Stanmore –  29th July from 8am to 4pm. For our full range of baskets, St James tee shirts, hand  crochet raffia hats and our beautiful table linens.

 

Up and coming:

August is coming around soon and 2 duck will be exhibiting once again at Life Instyle Melbourne. Visit us at our same spot Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th August in the beautiful Exhibition building Carlton for our new range of baskets for this coming Summer.

Already June

Wow it is already June  – where does the year go!!!!

With the fantastic autumn days of late, the markets have been so wonderful to visit. Hoping for these beautiful days to continue. Soon the harvest of the date palm will begin in Morocco and the cycle of basket making begins again. We are currently working on our new collection to be unveiled later in the year. Some surprises coming! Here is sneak peak. Love the X details. This baskets has it’s origins in Tunisia.

 

Basket of the Month

 

Celebrating our buckle basket this month! We are doubly excited about this basket as it also features in this months Country Style market ready feature! This is a great basket – strong and durable with the leather trim and handles but with the added security of the leather strap and buckle. See this basket and all our others over on Our Shop. Every Wednesday and Saturday 3rd, 10th, and 24th June you can find us @mooreparkproducemarket in the Showring at the Entertainment Quarter from 8am to 2pm.

Visit us on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month (10th and 24th) at the Carriageworks Farmers market from 8am to 1pm. Baskets only at this market.

 

Northside Produce market is on on the first and 3rd Saturday of the month. You can find us at the 3rd Saturday  17th June from 8am to midday.
