September heralds Spring!

We love Spring at 2 duck,  it is perfect for baskets and the promise of warm weather,  picnics, and all the things that baskets are meant for.

These days the outdoors is extra special. It is lovely to be out and about after being cooped up more than normal due to Covid 19.

New Shipment

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that by early October, we will have our full range of baskets back in stock.  We really miss our classic baskets when they sell out. Due to the strangeness of the year we have concentrated our order on the very popular and classic styles. There will be plenty of our wonderful double handled baskets and the classic baskets with and without leather trim. We also welcome back our trim basket with the leather buckle too.  Always a popular style.

We are thrilled to have an excellent stock of the fabulous baskets with the cherries too.

At this stage the shipment is due around the 6th October  so we should have it through customs and quarantine with in a week.  As soon as we are certain of the date we will update the website and let the shopping commence.

So until they arrive, it is business as usual for us and markets on Saturday!

For wholesales please contact us for the code to look at the collection: https://2ducktrading.com.au/contact-2duck/

Basket of the Month

Our single strap basket is beautiful size, at just a little smaller than our classic medium styles.  They are great for carrying shopping for just one or two people.  Coming with long leather strap handles, it swings easily over the shoulder as you head to the beach, the market or a picnic. This basket has an additional woven base to assist with stability, which makes it able to stand on its own when put down. A perfect everyday basket!  Find this basket and others on the website: https://2ducktrading.com.au/product/single-strap-basket/

Markets    Find us every Saturday at the Cambridge market EQ in Showring from 8am to 2pm.

We will be at Carriageworks Farmers market on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of September – Saturdays 12th and 26th Sept, from 8am to 1pm.

Le Marche Willoughby is a new produce market starting Sunday 13th September. It has a special accent on all things French plus plenty of local produce.  It will run the 2nd and 4th Saturday every month. Located in the carpark at  Club Willoughby – Crabbes Ave,  from 8am to 1pm.

À tres bientôt from 2 duck.

August update

Wow who can believe that we are almost in August!  We should be down in Melbourne at the August trade fairs and preparing for the coming busy season but this year has had other plans for us.

The best news of the week is that our new shipment will be here by mid September and we will have our full range of baskets back in stock!  It is always so hard when the full collection becomes reduced and so great when we get the new delivery.  I will keep you updated of the shipments progress! Happy dancing!!

In the mean time we still have plenty of baskets available. Check out this month’s basket.  As I write today is the last day of plastic free July but lets keep up the good work and use the baskets and other sustainable products to help reduce our plastic use.

Basket of the Month

The rustic weave oval baskets are lovely. The palm leaf is a wonderful warm golden colour.  As you use the basket it just naturally expands to carry all your shopping.  This basket is available in medium and large sizes both with the short palm leaf handle. July means Bastille market

Update Update

Sadly the Bastille market at Club Willoughby has been postponed until 20th September. Due to the heighten issues in organising events at present a last minute decision was made to reschedule. Keeping everyone safe is our main priority!!

Well it is already July and that can only mean one thing – the annual Bastille celebrations. This year, as with everything,  all the festivals are quite curtailed. So we are very lucky to have the Bastille Market at Club Willoughby on the 12 July.  It’s going to be a full day of food, shopping, wine and more celebrating all things French. Situated in the car park of the Club Willoughby, Crabbes Ave.  It will be an outdoor market with lots of space for everyone to enjoy safely. Can’t wait to see you all there.

Remember not only do we have the fantastic baskets perfect for any French celebration but we have a great range of the St James stripy Breton tops. Just to get into the look!

Here is the lovely long sleeved Minquier moderne style perfect for this time of the year. Available at the markets and also online https://2ducktrading.com.au/product/st-james-long-sleeve-minquier-top/

Plastic free July

Now an annual event, the month of July is an opportunity to really look at our plastic use and our personnel commitment to reducing plastic and our carbon foot print. At 2 duck we do feel that  the use of a basket is a perfect way to start reducing plastic usage. We are just back from the market and just loaded all our veggies in without additional plastic. Also we offer produce bags that assist with purchasing and sorting of your shopping. Get into it and stop single use plastics. https://2ducktrading.com.au/product/reusable-produce-bags/

Basket of the Month

Time for a bit of fun!! Our cute lace edged baskets with thick red leather handles easy to carry over the shoulder! This is a medium sized basket and is great for everyday shopping or as a tote. Pop over the shopping page for this and many more options. https://2ducktrading.com.au/product/red-lace-basket-with-long-handles/

MarketsCambridge markets at EQ  is back and in full swing. We return Saturdays starting 18th July.

Carriageworks is still working through the issues for the whole site however they are hopeful that the Carriageworks Farmers market will be back very soon. Maybe by early August. Fingers crossed.

Take care and keep safe.

October

Unexpectedly 2 duck trading is off to France for the first 2 weeks of October. We hadn’t planned to go this year for family and other reasons but the fates had other ideas. So you won’t find us at the markets til 17th October at EQ. Apologies for those who are looking for us or want a basket. Online shopping is unaffected.

After that it is all hands on deck as we get ready for the arrival of our new shipment ( mid November), and take part in all the markets, events up until Xmas.

Basket of the Month

Time to start thinking festive thoughts and what better way than with a bling star basket. Our baskets of the month!! It also comes in gold and blue stars see them all over on the shop. This is a great basket that combines our famous double handled baskets (with the short and long handles) and all the style of the bling sequin star. Perfect. Also a great alternative while we wait for the classic baskets to be back in stock.

Markets

No North Sydney or Carriageworks market in October – sorry folks.

We return to Cambridge market EQ on Wednesday 17th October and will be there every Wednesday and Saturday there after from 8am to 2pm.

William Street Festival

We are joining forces for the William Street festival with Ian from Ian Hadlow Antique Decorative Art to take part in the festival.

We will be bringing baskets, some fun brocante, loads of vintage linen teaming up with Ian’s treasures.  Saturday 20th October. 94 William Street.

CMRI Christmas market Wagga Wagga

We can’t believe it but it is almost time to  load up the duck truck and head down to Wagga Wagga for the annual CMRI Christmas Fair.

Friday 26th and Saturday 27th at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club Wagga Wagga.
