April update.
As I write the rain is pelting down and I am thinking of friends and stockists living and working on the East Coast – wow it is wet. This is from Sydney and I am sure it is much worse elsewhere. Seems like we have had unprecedented rains of late. This is giving new meaning to being wet ducks!! My thoughts are with those with roofs blown off and gardens and homes in turmoil!!
We will be away for part of April visiting Cambodia but our onlines will still be processed as normal. See the dates for all our April markets below. Of course it is Easter and we will definitely be at the Burrawang Easter Fair. Rain or shine for this favourite market.

Basket of the Month
A classic basket with leather trim and long handles. This basket is an variation on the original classic basket with leather trim as it has an extra woven rim and base for extra strength and stability. A medium size basket with long thick comfy leather handles it is perfect for all the carrying we do!! It is on special until the end of April for the fête des mêre.
Markets for April
We will be at Moore Park produce market Wednesday 5th and 26th and Saturday 1st, 8th and 29th of April. For baskets, fine French food, St James tee shirts and all our great table linens.
For Goodness Sake – Fair Farmers market at the Royal Randwick Racecourse Sunday 9th April. 8 am to 3pm. With our baskets, St James Tee shirts and a selection of table linens.
We will be at the market only on Saturday 8th April. For baskets.
Burrawang Easter market
Saturday April 15th from 8am to 3pm in the main street of the historic Burrawang Village. We are in our same spot as last year just across the road from the Burrawang Pub. We will have a big piles or 2 of baskets, our great St James tee shirts and plenty of lovely linens. See you there. Check the website for all the info there are some changes for parking and traffic.

Autumn is coming!
Wow after such a full on summer it is lovely to have some relief from the heat. Perfect for our wonderful St James tops.
Made in France from lovely light weight cotton they perfect for the coming demi season. We have several styles; the 3/4 sleeve Galathee style specially for woman in white and navy or white with red stripes. Or the long sleeve unisex style Minquier. We also have a range for kids in the long sleeve Minquier style. So French!! So perfect.

As the weather turns rustic so too do our lovely baskets. This is a beauty – made of leaves of the dwarf palm tree and woven in a rustic style. This basket has a larger woven oval base and leather trim and long leather handles and a greener look to the palm leaf. Holiday time!!
We love January – it is time to take a break, head to the beach with a basket (of course) and catch up on all the admin and stock taking that we couldn’t do before Christmas.
We will be back at the markets later in January so if you want a basket our online shop is the way to go!! Also a reminder that we have our fantastic St James tee shirts available on line. The 3/4 sleeve galathee top is perfect for summer evenings. Made of amazing light cotton they are wear so well. Available in white and red stripes too.

Markets for January
We start back on Wednesday 25th January – just in time to pick up some gourmandise before Australia Day.
Our first Saturday back is 28th January. From 8am to 1pm – Wilson street Darlington. We have a new market cycle this year @ Carriageworks we will be there every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.

Moore Park Produce market every Wednesday and Saturday of December until the Xmas market on Wednesday 21st Dec. Market then re opening on Wednesday 11th January. We have a great range of French gourmet foods available at the market for the festive season and will be taking orders for foie gras, duck confit, snails. Call 0404259986 to order.

Sunday 4th December in the Wahroonga shopping village. We are in our usual spot just on the corner of Redleaf and Railway Ave. Open from 10 to 4pm this is a fantastic annual shopping day.
Sydney Living Museum Hyde Park Barracks Christmas fair
Thursday 14th December at the Hyde Park Barracks from 4 to 8pm for foodie gifts and 2 duck wares and so much more.

September – Spring!!
September marks the beginning of the Spring fairs and the advent of good weather! We love it at 2 duck!! We are also waiting for our new shipment and will have lots of great new baskets coming plus all of our favourite classics. More info to come. Also as many of you know I love vintage French linen and always bring some back from France. We are having one of the first pop up shops for 2016 in September too. So busy busy busy.

Every where in France in May is the mois du Muguet – the festival of the Lily of the Valley. It heralds the beginning of spring and is one of my favourite traditions in France – everyone gives you a bouquet of muguet as gift of good luck. We will be in France from mid June for a few weeks and and so look forward to getting back in touch with these charming traditions.

After the busyness of February and the trade fair we are back to our markets and planning for events and preparing for our next shipment.
Basket of the Month
The baskets with leather trim and thick comfy handles are amongst the strongest and most durable in our range. This basket adds rustic charm to the classic style. Woven in the rarer dwarf palm tree leaf it has a rougher and more raw look. Made in the western part of Morocco nearer the coast it reflects the traditions of that area. Unfortunately due to some difficulties between the local community and Marrickville Council this event has been postponed!! Until later in the year. Such a shame as we visited the Precinct and thought it would be fantastic.
