Time to share the love!

 

February the month of lovers and love. We are pretty keen on that at 2 duck, as we love what we do and also like to share the love.  There is never enough baskets right??   You will be able to find us back at the markets in February and also online. We are getting the year off to a great start after a mix of staycationing and some time away.  This year holds a lot of promise including a long awaited trip to our little house in France but before then it is time to get down to business and enjoy the rest of summer.

Wholesales

We have begun the fun process of planning and choosing our new collection for Spring/ Summer 22 and we hope all going well we will have new container of baskets later this year. Markets

We return to  Carriageworks Farmer markets on our usual cycle of  2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.  For February this will be Saturdays 12th and 26th. The market is on from 8am to 1pm every Saturday. Watch out for a few specials each Saturday.

Le Marche – Willoughby  operates every 2nd and 4th Sunday at Laurelbank House in Willoughby. Come and see us for  all our French treats, baskets and our great collection of St James stripy tops.

December!

We welcome December, the cherry season and so much that is festive in our lives!   It is a true joy that we have got to this time of the year and we are have been so busy with markets, onlines and wholesales.

There  are still many great events and shopping opportunities to be had in December this year for your festive shopping.  Also from today until December 13th – all baskets ordered online will be sent EXPRESS to make sure they make it in time.

Baskets of the Month

Our adorable open weave baskets are just so fun and make the best little hamper baskets.  Available in three sizes – you can see them over on our shop page.  Hand woven from the fibre from large palm trees near the desert in Marrakech,  these baskets are in the beautiful blond coloured palm leaf.  They have a short real leather handle, stand well for use around the house or great as a basket filled with seasonal gifts. We will be at Carriageworks Farmers market on every Saturday in December,  from 8am to 1pm.

We are delighted to have two  Le Marche -Willoughby markets prior to Christmas.  Find us on the regular Sunday 12th December and an extra special additional market on the 19th December to make sure you have everything you need to celebrate the French way. We will have good supplies of pates, rillette’s and foie gras.

October JOY!

The real joy- a  huge bunch of roses! That is what the announcement today of the new roadmap is like!  We can now start planning to  come back to markets and the few end of year events that are still left on our calendar.  Whilst the arrival of our new container has keep us quite busy and we have had a record month online too, it will be so great to see all our lovely clients at the markets come mid October.

Wholesale

Wholesales in September have been very steady. We have been so fortunate that many hamper companies and patisseries have been ordering baskets for gift giving.  It has been a beautiful thing seeing our baskets filled with food, flowers, bottles of bubbles to sharing the love during the lockdown.  We do, of course, have plenty of stock for all our wonderful stockists, so don’t delay in placing your orders.  For new customers just drop us a request for the wholesale code –  https://2ducktrading.com.au/contact-2duck/

Here is another of our newish styles. We had a few last year to try out, but they sold out before we could get them online. We are delight to announce we will be at Carriageworks Farmers market Saturday 9th October. This will be such a celebration and we promise to have a big warehouse sale in honour of the first trading day back!! There after we will be there every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. Open from 8am.


Thrilled to let you know we will be back at Cambridge markets EQ on Saturday 16th October and there after every Saturday.  So pleased as we will have all our wonderful baskets but a super sized new shipment of raffia hats and all our other goodies.

Oh la la non food traders can return to Le Marche – Willoughby from 24th October and we will be there!  We will then be back at the market every 2nd and 4th Sunday!

All of the markets have been operating in a Covid safe way during the lockdown and will continue to trade with what ever restrictions are in place.

 

Sadly many of the festivals and events that book mark our year are no longer going ahead. We love our trips to the country – CMRI Wagga Wagga, or up to Wahroonga for the annual fair.  We do have hopes for the Popped up in Kimo market in Gundagai  https://www.facebook.com/Popped-Up-At-Kimo-193519707365371  We will keep you posted.  We really look forward to having these events back next year and a resumption of normal trade. Easter and April here we come!

The Easter break is upon us and so is the school holidays.  We are going to take a few days to do some road tripping into Victoria and hope to pop into some of our Victorian stockists on the way. The office will be closed from Tuesday 6th to Monday 12th April. All online orders will be posted when we return to the office on 12 April.

Baskets of the Month

Our reed baskets are a fun family of 3 baskets. Small, medium and large basket, all sold individually. The baskets are woven out of naturally occurring reed to make a more rigid style of basket. We are at Cambridge markets EQ  every Wednesday and Saturday in April, except Wednesday 7th and 14th  April.  We will be trading on Easter Saturday for any last minute French holiday treats, table linens.

 

Find us at Carriageworks Famers market on Saturdays 10th and 24th April. We are there every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.

 

We will be at Le Marché-Willoughby both Saturday 11th and 25 April.      Please note: for 25th April as the market will be on ANZAC day we will begin trading at 11am until 4pm.

March Autumn update

Here is our March update.  Autumn has arrived and this year is well underway!!

At this stage most of the major events that we would normally do, are not proceeding. Sadly for us there is no Burrawang market on Easter Saturday this year. Luckily our weekly markets continue to be going very well as shopper embrace the markets again.  We really hope that we see you at one of the markets some time soon.

Basket of the Month

The pompom baskets are just the fun and bright tote that we need as we get ready to say good by to summer. August update

Wow who can believe that we are almost in August!  We should be down in Melbourne at the August trade fairs and preparing for the coming busy season but this year has had other plans for us.

The best news of the week is that our new shipment will be here by mid September and we will have our full range of baskets back in stock!  It is always so hard when the full collection becomes reduced and so great when we get the new delivery.  I will keep you updated of the shipments progress! Happy dancing!!

In the mean time we still have plenty of baskets available. Check out this month’s basket.  As I write today is the last day of plastic free July but lets keep up the good work and use the baskets and other sustainable products to help reduce our plastic use.

The rustic weave oval baskets are lovely. At  2 duck trading co we are a doing our best to be Covid Safe. We offer contactless payment, have hand sanitiser available, will maintain required social distancing  and undertake not to come to the market if we are feeling unwell. Lets all keep safe.

March for harvesting with your market basket!

 

This is truely the perfect time for a French market basket. It can be a harvest basket,  a shopping basket for all the wonderful produce, a going to the market basket or collecting flowers basket.

We are already in March and the beginning of Autumn – isn’t it amazing how time flies.  This is now the best time to use your French market basket from 2 duck to gather your autumnal abondance.
